These North Face Waterproof Windbreaker Jackets are made with the HyVent 2.5 layer process. There’s a ripstop nylon layer, a nylon / polyester blend layer, and a thin polyurethane coating. What that all adds up to is a shell that’s waterproof, windproof, abrasion-resistant, and yet still breathable.

To further protect you from the elements, this rain jacket has an adjustable hood with a chin guard, a drawcord at the hem, hook-and-loop tabs on the cuffs, and a stormflap covering over the center zipper. Oh, and it’s completely seam-sealed. Whether you use it for hiking through gorges or coaching football in the rain, water is not getting past this sucker.

It’s breathable, but if you get too warm, it has pit zippers for fast venting. It has two zipped pockets on the outside. In fact, you can fold the entire jacket up into the left‑hand pocket for easy portability.
